This message was all about the anointing that breaks the yoke—reminding us not to “miss the oil.” From the moment we stepped into worship, there was a strong sense of God’s presence filling the sanctuary.
We were reminded that in God’s house, there’s an exchange—we bring our burdens, and He gives us His peace, joy, and even instructions for our lives. Just like David, an ordinary shepherd boy who was overlooked but chosen by God, we too are anointed and empowered for our calling. The Spirit doesn’t just visit—it rushes in to break chains, lift burdens, and empower us to walk in purpose.
Key takeaways:
- The Spirit empowers the calling: It’s not by our strength but by His Spirit.
- The Spirit must be valued and guarded: Like David prayed, “Take not your Spirit from me.”
- The Spirit breaks the yoke: Fear, shame, sin, and bondage bow under the anointing.
- The anointing is fulfilled in Christ: The same Spirit that rushed upon David and rested on Jesus now lives in us.
The oil represents abundance, healing, and empowerment—it softens life’s hardships, protects us from burnout, and even makes us “slippery,” so the enemy can’t hold on.
The encouragement is clear: lay down your burdens, ask for a fresh outpouring of the Spirit, and walk boldly in your calling. The anointing makes all the difference. ✨
Blessings to you, SLC
